Itinerary by Day

Early in the morning we will depart to the east part of the Peloponnese peninsula with a short stop to admire the Corinth Canal. Our first visit is in the fabled Homeric city of Mycenae, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and capital of one of the oldest civilizations in the world. While you’ll be literally walking in the steps of King Agamemnon, your expert guide will reveal every story, myth and legend that hide behind the imposing ruins of the citadel. Continue our visit to the third-century theater of Epidaurus, one of the best-preserved classical Greek structures renowned for its superb acoustics. Epidavre site was set up in honor of the God of Medicine, Asklepios, son of Apollo and Coronis and enjoy the wonderful location of the shrine which is on the Unesco World Heritage list. Its time to chill down in our boutique hotel in Nafplion town. In Nafplion, you’ll encounter a vibrant city-museum with listed architecture and majestic Venetian castles crowning the town. Tile roofs, grey stone, grand homes and a blue-green sea. The famous Bourtzi, Akronafplia and Palamidi castles. A stunning seaport town, consisting of fortresses, neoclassical buildings, old neighborhoods, wide sidewalks and large squares. A town brimming with life that preserves its legends and lures you into its mystical ambience. It was the Venetians’ “Naples of the East” and the first capital of Greece.

From Nafplio, your trip will take you through the beautiful Peloponnesian countryside towards the site of ancient Olympia; after some rest and lunch we will visit the archaeological site of ancient Olympia, birthplace of the Olympic Games. Your guide will let you into the secrets of the temples, the training area and the original stadium where the Olympic Games were born, and held for centuries. The visit of the archaeological Museum of Olympia is also not to be missed, as it holds world class masterpieces and treasures like the breathtaking statue of Hermes and the infant Dionysus, by Praxiteles.

Today we will cross via the Rio Antirio bridge to the Greek mainland heading towards Delphi. On our way we will make a stop in Galaxidi, once a thriving port and home to some of the most powerful families of seafaring merchants in the Mediterranean.

After lunch, we’re off to visit the site of Delphi, sacred oracle of the ancient Gods. There you’ll marvel at the beauty of the ancient monuments, including the ruins of the Temple of Apollo and the Athenian Treasury. You’ll have plenty of time to soak in the magical scenery, after which it’ll be time to visit the Delphi museum, where some of the finest examples of ancient Greek art are on display – including the world-famous bronze statue of the Charioteer of Delphi.

In the evening we will spend some time visiting the neighboring village of Arachova. Arachova is a mountain village, on the slopes of Mount Parnassos, mainly built of stone houses, narrow streets, and springs. Despite its huge tourist growth due to the ski resort, its heritage has been well preserved. The region is famous for its agriculture, cattle breeding, and boasts high-quality local products like olives and olive oil, tsipouro, formaella & feta cheese, yogurt, opsimotiri cheese, halvah, frumenty, and noodles. Arachova is also famous for its handmade, pure woolen textiles, which are made using traditional looms and natural colors.

Enjoy a historical hike in the ancient trail connecting the port of ancient Kirra with the Oracle of Delphi. Following the footsteps of ancient pilgrims, we will hike in the heart of the famous Crisaean olive grove. It is listed by UNESCO as a unique landscape composed of more than 1,5 million olive trees. We will enjoy the unique scenery! Observe the silver-green foliage of the olive trees changing colors depending on the time of the day and admire the naturally carved trunks of impressive centennial trees. We enjoy a delicious olive snack in the shade of an old chapel and discover the taste of different sorts of olives. We will learn how olives are cultivated and why the olive tree is a worldwide symbol of immortality, wisdom and abundance.

Explore Meteora with an incredible fun-packed day discovering the beauties of this sensational destination. A 4-hour guided e-bike ride between rock giants and cliff-suspended monasteries. If you are looking for the most fun, close to nature, and eco-friendly sightseeing tour, this is the right way to do it. Whether you are a fit cyclist or not in great shape type, don’t worry. The electric assistance bikes will do all the job, letting you enjoy the scenery without getting tired. Your tour leader will tell you stories about tradition, culture, and history and you will have the chance to visit two different monasteries.

From Meteora return back to Athens or continue your discovery to another part of Greece.
